Welcome to AGI's annual Santa tracking page. This Christmas marks the 11th year that AGI has assisted the North American
Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) in its special duty of tracking the fastest vehicle in the world—Santa's sleigh—on the
NORAD Tracks Santa Web site (www.noradsanta.org).
HOW NORAD TRACKS SANTA
As it has done for more than 50 years, NORAD will track Santa Claus at
www.noradsanta.org on Dec. 24. The site will feature 24 key stops that St. Nick makes on his journey around the world.
The video and audio reports start on Dec. 24 at 4 a.m. ET and are updated regularly until 4:00 a.m. ET on Dec. 25. Go to the
site now for fun interactive activities.
HOW AGI's TECHNOLOGY WORKS
The
Noradsanta.org Web site uses AGI's analysis and visualization
software to bring images from NORAD's Santa Cams to computers around the world. First, the Santa Cams collect St. Nick's images in binary format and beam them to NORAD's geosynchronous satellites, which downlink
the data to AGI. There, AGI software translates the information into 3-D videos that are streamed over the Web site. To find out more about the products that support this
tradition, go to
