Database Defaults | Auxiliary Database | Update Database Files

Default Databases

Database properties enable you to set the defaults for the city, facility, satellite, and star databases. You can specify a stock STK database or one of your own that meets STK's format requirements.

Use the Database Type option to select the type of database for which you wish to set defaults.

Database Defaults (City, Facility, Satellite)

Use the options in the Database Defaults area to specify the name of the database to be used and the directory in which it is located, or use the button to browse for a database file.

Auxiliary Database (City, Facility, Satellite)

If you want to use a database in addition to the one specified in the Database Defaults area, select Use Auxiliary Database and specify the database name and location, or click to browse for a file. The database must conform to the appropriate database format. Click the links below for help on specific database file formats:

Database Defaults (Star)

Use the star collection selector to specify a default star collection. Star collections are defined by specifying a set of constraints on the contents of a star catalog. If an appropriate star collection is not available, click Create… to create a new collection with the desired set of constraints and star catalog.

Update Database Files

You can update your Satellite database files using an online source. To do that, use the Satellite Database Update tool.
