Customizing Toolbars

STK has many toolbars to help you perform common tasks quickly. A task bar option is available, depending on which windows are active and what objects are selected within those windows. Several predefined toolbars appear when you first start STK. To personalize your workspace, you can enable or disable toolbars, customize buttons on the toolbars, or create user-defined toolbars.

Toolbars exist for simple tasks in STK such as creating and saving new scenarios and adding objects. Additionally there are toolbars for the 2D and 3D windows, globe details, data providers, and the HTML viewer.

You can customize a toolbar by adding, removing and relocating buttons.

  1. Select Toolbars from the View menu.
  2. Select Customize from the submenu.
  3. Click OK to save your settings and close the Customize dialog box.

Notes

If you do not want to remove toolbar buttons from their original positions but would like to have them available on other toolbars, you may want to copy them instead of moving them.

You can also copy toolbar buttons by pressing Ctrl while you drag the button from one toolbar to the other toolbar with the Customize dialog box opened.

Predefined toolbars (STK Tools, Default, 2D Graphics, HTML Viewer Controls, 3D Graphics, Animation, and Data Providers) cannot be deleted.

If you are moving a button with an associated drop down menu, the following message will appear "Drop down unavailable in Customize mode."

Sometimes a drop button is not shown because it will not fit on the toolbar due to window size and current location. It will not show up in the popup list of buttons that are hidden.
