Reports & Graphs

The STK Suite contains a large inventory of pre-defined report and graph styles, which can be extended almost endlessly through customization. Here are examples of 2 pre-defined styles.

LLA Position

  1. Right-click the MEO satellite in the Object Browser.
  2. Select the Report & Graph Manager.
  3. Turn Off Show Graphs located in the Styles section. This is done because you are only interested in the Reports.
  4. Select LLA Position from the Styles list.
  5. Click Generate... to display a report that lists latitude, longitude, and altitude and corresponding rate data for the satellite throughout the scenario time period.
  6. Turn off the Show Reports option in the Styles section.
  7. Turn On the Show Graphs option in the Styles section.
  8. Select LLA Position.
  9. Click Generate....
  10. Click anywhere in the graph, but not a graph element, and drag the cursor to zoom in on the graph.
  11. Right-click anywhere in the graph to display the popup menu, and experiment with some of the options for varying the appearance and content of the graph.
  12. To close a graph or report click Close Button.

Lighting Times

  1. Return to the Report & Graph Manager (for the MEO satellite) and create a Lighting Times report, which lists the times when the satellite is in direct sunlight, penumbra, or umbra.
  2. Create the corresponding graph with the Report & Graph Manager.
  3. Compare the Lighting Times and LLA Position graphs. Do you see a correspondence between altitude and times when the satellite is in the sun's shadow?

Where to Go from Here?
