STK/Terrain, Imagery, & Maps, or STK/TIM, is a module that consists of geospatial data. It offers users convenience when searching for terrain and imagery as an additional and readily available data source. The SRTM, NED, and EarthSat datasets can be queried and downloaded from a server at AGI using the AGI Download Utility. Once downloaded, these three datasets are local to the user. Microsoft Bing Maps™ (formerly Microsoft Virtual Earth), on the other hand, is akin to Web mapping and it relies on data streaming over an Internet connection.
