STK/Radar provides thorough analysis and graphic displays of radar
systems. It adds a new class of objects—the radar class—which can be attached to any of STK's vehicle classes
(satellites, missiles, launch vehicles, aircraft, ships, and ground vehicles) as well as the facility/target and sensor
classes. The module also allows the user to model an important characteristic of radar targets—radar cross section (RCS)—to calculate and display access and to generate reports and graphs of radar system performance.
STK/Radar simulates both monostatic and bistatic radar systems and supports operations in Synthetic Aperture Radar
(SAR) and/or Search/Track modes. Targets may be assigned multiple frequency-dependent radar cross sections to coincide
with the various bands in operation in the scenario. Users have the flexibility to choose from several different
antenna types or utilize the "External" option to import their own antenna patterns into STK. The surveillance tool
allows the performance of a system to be evaluated and ranked by either target or radar. The Radar Advanced
Environment extension for STK/Radar models ground clutter contributions to radar analysis.
STK/Radar together with the STK Professional Edition provides a unique systems engineering capability for dramatically
decreasing the time to perform detailed radar analysis. STK’s quick setup and iteration enables a reduction of trade
space in complex multi-parameter parametric analysis. Users can create any radar reference axes with the STK Vector
Geometry Tool, visualize relative vectors and axes in 3D, and report on target positions in multiple user-defined
reference frames.
