STK/Aircraft Mission Modeler (STK/AMM)

STK/Aircraft Mission Modeler (STK/AMM) STK/Aircraft Mission Modeler The Aircraft Mission Modeler propagator for the aircraft object is a premier tool for performing complex, highly accurate, time-based mission analysis for aircraft operations. Aircraft Mission Modeler features a rapid mission modeling tool that allows users to model specific mission requirements quickly and easily using either the step-by-step GUI interface or the 3-D object editor. Utilizing aircraft specific characteristics, Aircraft Mission Modeler produces realistic flight paths based upon empirical, airframe-specific deterministic models. In addition to the default aircraft models included with the install, users can customize and add models as necessary to fulfill their needs.

  • Highlights

    • Leverages all STK functionality

    • Route procedures at each waypoint
    • 3-D route editing
    • Create custom aircraft
    • V/TOL and S/TOL modeling
    • Model aircraft banking around turns

  • Key Features

  • STK/Aircraft Mission Modeler

    Flight procedures

At a specified waypoint AMM users have the ability to specify a flight procedure from a set of flexible, pre-defined options. The options include circular, figure-8, and racetrack holding patterns in addition to enroute, arc and basic point-to-point turns.

    3-D route editing

In addition to building routes within the STK/AMM GUI, STK Professional users can add, move, and alter waypoints within the 3-D environment. The entire mission including waypoints and procedures can be clicked out in a matter of seconds. Holding pattern parameters such as length and width can be edited by simply clicking and dragging the 3-D control points.

    Catalog

STK/AMM uses a catalog for managing necessary data such as aircraft models, waypoints, and runways. Combined with 3D route editing, the user can select runways from the catalog adding a mission takeoff or landing procedure on the runway. Additionally, depending on the extent of the catalog data, the procedure for the runway will start at one end and align with the direction of the runway.

    Banking on turns

In addition to modeling smooth turns for waypoint procedures, STK/AMM computes aircraft banking around turns accounting for specified airframe characteristics. As part of the aircraft model, users can specify aircraft banking in terms of turn g, bank angle and turn acceleration. Modeling the aircraft banking within STK enables users to account for geometry considerations to such things as platform sensors, detection, and communications.

    Dynamic waypoints

When planning a route users can specify other dynamic objects as waypoints. This capability enables aircraft-carrier takeoffs and landings, aerial refueling, and vehicle tracking. An entire mission can be planned relative to another vehicle.
