STK

STK --> API - Connect

Connect allows the user to control STK from an external program and drive it without using the Graphical User Interface (GUI). Connect commands are simple ASCII text strings and are the same for any language. You can use any language (such as: Matlab, Perl, VB, C++, Java, etc.) that is able to read/write to a TCP/IP socket.

STK --> Scripting

Create custom applications using HTML/DHTML, VisualBasic, Perl, or any script that supports OLE automation. Scripting an internal application inside of STK (such as an HTML interface) will allow you to elevate the functionality of STK, support a task-oriented workflow, and/or integrate with external applications. To execute and control scripting within STK you will need to use the Connect API.

STK --> API - Object Model

The STK Automation Object Model is a COM Library containing types, interfaces, events, and classes representing various aspects of the STK application structure. It provides software developers with the capabilities to control and automate STK objects, manage the lifetime of STK objects, access Data Provider Tools, perform access and coverage computations, and respond to events generated by STK. The STK Object Model can be used in environment that supports COM late binding (such as: .NET (C# and VB), Java, C++, Visual Basic, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, etc).

STK --> UI Plugins

Using your own software development environment (SDE), you can create custom workflows for the STK desktop via User Interface (UI) Plugins. Use the interface to design toolbars, GUI panels and context menu options that integrate third-party or in-house capabilities right inside of STK.

STK Engine (4DX)

STK Engine --> Controls

4DX is a collection of COM components and ActiveX controls that is based off of STK. The 4DX capabilities allow you to embed STK’s engine/functionality into third-party applications using any COM-enabled language (such as: NET (C# and VB), Java, C++, Visual Basic, Perl, Matlab, etc). You can use any of our available APIs (Connect and/or Object Model) to communicate with our 4DX controls (which consist of the Application object, 3D ActiveX control, and the 2D ActiveX control).

STK Engine --> Addins

The AGI Custom Application Framework is a set of software components that supports development and integration of custom applications using AGI's 4DX Embedded Technology. The Framework was designed to provide developers with a consistent development methodology for rapid application development and integration with AGI products and technologies. A set of programming interfaces and class libraries provide a standard for designing reusable components, called add-ins, that can be easily integrated into an application in a plug-and-play fashion. Add-ins can be written in any language supported by the .NET Framework version 2.0.
